(Translate & Speak Website: http://imtranslator.net/translate-and-speak/) This is one of the first films depicting a Keyline Flood Flow system consultancy by P A Yeomans, on near flat land adjacent to a swampy river valley. River water flows into a gently falling diversion channel all the way into a shallow creek valley. So that this water can irrigate the greatest area of land, a flat channel takes the shortest path (making the water available higher in the landscape) across the shallow creek valley on a viaduct wall, creating a lake behind it. River water is diverted into the lake or across the wall to a falling irrigation channel. In lieu of an overflow channel from the lake, flooded water-gates at the end of the long arm of the storage (parallel to & uphill from the irrigation cha...

The Cook pine is a cone-bearing evergreen tree native to New Caledonia, just east of Australia. It is a large, tall, upright, elegant tree with whorled branches and dark green, needle-type foliage. The little scale-like needles are prickly and linear, densely arranged in flexible, caterpillar-like fingers upon the lateral branches. At the tree's tip, the newest branch growth is a rounded tuft, and the older branches often are dropped and rejuvenated with shorter ones, creating a more obvious columnar habit. It produces cones that are either male or female, but appearing on the same tree but at different locations. Cook pine does best in full sun exposures in a well drained soil. It is quite tolerant along salty beaches and of a wide range of soil pH, quite often used as a street tree, foc...

We stayed in Noumea and this is what we did. I have other videos for other activities: Trip to Isle of Pines, Amedee Lighthouse, and a Jet ski tour. Part of the package was a free bottle of wine for newly weds (Yoko lied to the travel agency), free sweets at a chocolate store, and 30 mins at the hotel spa. The hotel forgot our wine but we got it after she complained. The jacuzzi was nice but one of the jets that massages your neck was broken. We enjoyed it anyway. The Pacific Fair was a bit boring as everything was in French. We bought a kind of crepe with ham, egg and cheese, a sausage bun, and also some boiled pigs feet which we ate at the hotel and which was yummy. They had people dancing salsa music on stage as well as local ethnic music. I enjoyed practicing the French I ...
Hi everyone. As you saw yesterday we had a visit from Guy Kane on his kite foil. Today he came by again and I thought to try capture it with another camera instead of the iPhone. I realise this is not part of our sailing videos, but it is relevant to our current 'hot off the press experiences' and here in New Caledonia sitting at anchor in a windy zone, I think one of these toys would be awesome to have on any causing boat - don't you?

Distant land, land of contrasts, pristine land... New Caledonia is a diverse and unique destination. Bathed by clear waters at the heart of the Pacific Ocean, lulled year round by gentle trade winds, le Caillou (the Pebble) has more to offer than just its heavenly beaches and brilliant sunshine.

New Caledonia is a unique destination and one of the more picture perfect islands in the immense Pacific Ocean. With some of the best beaches, a great outdoor destination, excellent diving, culture and to top it all off, great value for money and awesome food, thanks to its French connection.
New Caledonia is an outstanding destination, due largely to the magnificent barrier reef which surrounds the main island of Grande Terre. It is the second largest in the world and is, unsurprisingly, an underwater maze of natural beauty. But the islands themselves are more than capable of entertaining the holidayer. Luxurious five star hotels invite the wealthy tourists into their midst, whilst the budget traveller can lodge in the cheaper accomodation. But be they wealthy or on a budget, everyone who comes to New Caledonia is treated to the same cultural vivacity and tropical flavour. Frenchness has made its mark on culture, but the islanders are by no means a collection of French folk donning swimsuits and suntans; their dance and food are unmistakably traditional, though infused with ...
Pacific Islands. Aerial views of two islands in the Pacific Ocean; a Pan Am aeroplane in the air. Several shots of holidaymakers in swimwear on a motor boat, travelling to Ile des Pines; their guide dives for lobsters in the sea. Beautiful shots of the pine-tree lined island; the guide pulls the boat in to the shore and the tourists get off and have a seafood barbecue on the beach. White sands and clear sea - it looks totally idyllic! On the island of Noumea we see various shots of the town, much influenced by the French colonialism. French children on their way to school; French fashions and perfumes displayed in shop windows; French-style architecture. On the island of Fiji a (local) corporal hoists a Union Jack flag up a mast at Government House; the changing of the guard c...
